Free mortgage and loan calculator
Work out a mortgage or loan payment, see how much of each payment is interest and principal, and track your payments with your bank transactions. Free and private.
Transactions
Click a transaction to edit, split or delete it. Click a column heading to sort by it.
Set your budget
Enter what you expect to spend on each category and how often it is paid: weekly, every 2 weeks, twice a month, monthly, quarterly, every 6 months or yearly. Everything is converted to a monthly and a yearly figure. Everything under Income counts as money coming in, such as your salary. Categories are grouped by parent: enter one total for a group, or click its ▸ arrow to budget the subcategories individually. Typing a new group total replaces its inner budgets with an equal split. Suggested amounts are only used while the whole budget is empty; once you type any amount, they are no longer counted.
Export PDF
Opens a printable report in a new tab. In the print window choose “Save as PDF” as the destination.
Imported transactions are matched against these rules by description. A full match beats a partial one, and the longest partial match wins. If nothing matches exactly, the closest rule is used.
Import transactions
Columns are matched automatically. Always check the preview before importing – you can change any column below.
Paste or upload rows with the columns Account, Currency, Date, Description, Amount, Category (tab, comma or semicolon separated). New rows are added to what you already have, exact duplicates are skipped, and everything is saved in this browser.
PDF statements are read in your browser and are not uploaded. Layouts differ between banks, so always check the dates and amounts in the preview.

Used for imported transactions that don't include a currency, and shown first on the dashboard.

Keep your data up to date on all your devices through your own Google Drive or OneDrive. It is saved in a private app folder there – it never reaches our servers.
Save your transactions, budgets, rules and settings to a file, or restore them from one.
The CSV file holds your transactions only and is never encrypted. You can import it back on the Import page.
Encrypt your backup files and your synced copy with a passphrase, so they cannot be read without it. On this device, your data stays readable to anyone who can open this browser.
Imported transactions are matched against these rules by description. A full match beats a partial one, and the longest partial match wins. If nothing matches exactly, the closest rule is used.
When you import a file whose categories differ from the ones on this site, you choose the matching category once and it is saved here. The next time, the same category in a file is converted automatically. They are separate from the categorisation rules, which work on the description.
Add your own categories. They work everywhere the built-in ones do: transactions, rules, mappings and budgets. When you delete one, everything that uses it moves to a category you choose.
Example transactions and budgets to try the app with. Available only while you have no transactions, so your own data is never mixed with them.
Permanently delete everything from this browser: transactions, budgets, goals, rules and settings. This cannot be undone.
Mortgage and loan payments
Enter the amount, the interest rate and how long a mortgage or other loan is spread over, and Budget Dashboard works out the payment, the total interest and the date the loan will be paid off. Two charts show how much of every payment is interest and how much is principal, and how the balance goes down.
Track your real payments
Payments are found in your own transactions, so the numbers follow what you have actually paid. Import your bank CSV file, or record a payment by hand, and the loan page updates. Extra payments, rate changes at renewal, and weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and accelerated payments are supported, as is the semi-annual compounding used for Canadian fixed-rate mortgages.
Private by design
Your loans and transactions are stored in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers. Read how your budget data stays private.
